BLUF is a military acronym that stands for: Bottom Line Up Front. In business and law, people read a lot. Don’t frustrate your reader by hiding the main point in a long email.
Putting the bottom-line up front (starting your email with the conclusion), gives your reader a clear understanding of what you’re asking and the ultimate conclusion that you’ve reached. This technique also gives your email a better chance of being read.
